Punching bag training means working with a hanging punching bag to build technique, strength and conditioning.
You throw and kick combinations on the bag, alternate with conditioning exercises and work in rounds of 2 to 3 minutes.
Unlike kickboxing, punching bag training is not about sparring or opponents. It's just you and the bag, one on one.
That makes it accessible for beginners, with no fear of getting hit. But just as intense as traditional boxing or kickboxing.
For many of our members, punching bag training is the moment of the week to let everything go.
No screens, no phone, no overthinking. Just you, the bag and your breathing.
In a single 60-minute class you work on everything at once: strength, cardio, technique, coordination and mental focus.
With us, punching bag training is a fixed part of the Kickboxing Adults classes (Mon/Wed/Fri 18:00).
Every class includes 15 to 25 minutes of intense bag work, often in rounds of 2 to 3 minutes with short breaks.
Want more technique? You can also train independently in our gym.
We have several punching bags available during opening hours (Mon-Fri 08:00-22:00, weekend 08:00-16:00). With a membership or Stadspas you hit unlimited.

With kickboxing you train the techniques and optionally do partner drills or sparring. For many people, punching bag training is an easier way to get started.
No, not at all. Punching bag training is perfect for beginners: you don't have to spar anyone or have a partner.
You learn the techniques in the group classes and can then practise independently on the bag.
Not for the first trial class, we have loan gloves.
Training more often? Then we recommend your own gloves (hygiene and a better fit). You can buy them from us or bring your own.
Yes. With a membership or Stadspas (€10/month) you have access to the gym during opening hours, including the punching bags.
Handy if you want to run your own routine or get in extra practice alongside the group classes.
